Hi Guys,

I've a double pole switch with 13amp socket outlet, connected to consumer unit on own circuit and 32amp breaker.

However, it looks like from this below worktop level is a double socket with the fridge and hob in one on an adapter and the oven in other socket.

Also at high level by the hob is a normal socket which hob also connects into.

My problem??? The whole things stoppped working!!

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you checked the breaker?

What do you mean when you say that the hob is connected to the double socket as well as the single one? I assume you mean you have a cooker switch with a 13A socket. And the double socket is fed from the cooker switch.

cheers for reply.

Breaker Ok

Yes, double socket fed from cooker switch, two plugs coming from behind cooker into double socket, along with the fridge.

The hob also has flex connected plug - would this be for the extractor??

I think this may be a case where it would be better if you could take some pictures for us. If you feel confident to do so and it's possible without disturbing the existing wiring, perhaps you could even remove the cooker control switch (isolate the supply first at the CU!) and take a photo of the wiring inside there?

It is unusual for an electric hob to plug straight into a normal socket as you describe. To confirm, you have an electric hob, not a gas hob, correct? If so, the entire installation sounds potentially overloaded, and it would be no surprise that you're having troubles.
