Electric cooker position

Hi, hope you can advise me please.

I want to site a freestanding electric cooker at the end of a run of kitchen floor units, ie next to the side wall of the kitchen. The side wall and back walls are both tile-covered brick, and there are no wall cupboards anywhere near.

I will use a metal strip to protect the worktop edge next to one side of the cooker, but on the other side I want to have the cooker right next to the wall with virtually no gap if poss.

Will this be ok?
