Hi,

I'm going to buy a freestanding cooker and have it installed, but I am clueless about what kind of cooker my place allows for.

Here is a photo of the (empty) cooker space:

If anyone could tell me whether I could have gas or electric (or either one) in that space, I would be very grateful. I have more photos if helpful.

Best regards,
Tom

you can have both looks like a gas pipe already there and a cooker point electric.

Looks like you have a gas supply and some form of outlet plate for an electric supply.
But the electric supply maybe only for electric display, ignition purpose and or extractor fan.
So I'd assume unless you do have a Cooker Control Unit (isolator switch) some where above the work top this may be rated to low to supply an electric cooker/oven.
You would then need to know the size of the cable and the size of the protective device, to be able to know what output power you would be allowed to run. To determine the cooker size.

I think I have one of those switches. It's a big red switch above the worktop.

In any case, I think I'll just go for gas. Thanks very much!
