Any recommendations for a better reel?
Ive got one silmilar, came from screwfix.
The cable has a tendency to get over the side when rewinding and wrap around the tube. Also the cable guide doesnt guide the cable very well.
I think the solution for me is buy a new one.

Either one of those, or hold the frame down with your foot, wind in with the right hand and control the cable with the left. It's a bit like that trick where you rub your tummy whilst simultaneously patting yourself on the head - in other words it can take a bit of co-ordination (and even then it doesn't always go right!)
I've got a couple of "normal" reels plus one Brennenstuhl. Being in the trades, my reels are 110 volt, so my Brennenstuhl is not quite the same as the 230 volt ones. My 110 volt reel has the same arrangement as the one in my previous post (a Brennenstuhl Garant), i.e. the cable feeds back through the handle loop which makes it far less likely to unspool when winding the cable in. The one you link to is missing that feature, although the metal sides to the drum do make for a very durable bit of kit. To my mind the biggest plus of some (but not all) of the Brennenstuhl's is the Bretec rotary contact system:Would u you recommend this brennenstahl one, guide looks good for it
