Hi guys need some help. Have a unvented system with a mixer shower but uses too much water and gas to heat up water so changeing to an electric shower. Is it OK just to use the cold supply which used to feed the mixer shower, if not how can I get around it?

but if you want a weedy, ineffective shower, why not just buy a very small shower head and save lots of money?

Mira used to supply a silly little head on their handsets.

And you will be paying nearly twice as much for your fuel on a litre by litre basis of water used. Most unvented cylinders lose very little heat in standing losses.

And what are you going to wash up in if you do not turn on the UV cylinder

never thought of buying a smaller shower head!!!

Basically after 2 showers no more hot water after boiler being on for 45 mins. The wife moans about it being cold shower and the boiler wakes us up anyway well before we need to be so electric seemed ideal.

will have to do pots on a night I suppose

Just double cheking its ok to do as screwfix forum says dont due to valve pressure etc, any1 else know if its ok wh is qualified. Screwfix forum seems to be full of jokers

Fit some flow restrictors to reduce the water flow rate.

It will cost you much more to heat the water with an electric water heater than with a gas boiler.
