Electric Shower PRD Problem

THe water just pours out of the prd pipe when switched on.

What would be possible cause of this happening as i don't want to replace

the prd just for it to go again

What happened immediately before the PRD triggered?

Useful tip when you've sorted it - buy 2 replacement bits, and leave one lying inside the cover of the shower. If it ever blows again you'll have one to hand for immediate replacement...
