I have just bought a new house and the electric shower is ok but not quite as intense as i was hoping for… In the past i've had showers attached to the hot water from the boiler but this is a new team eight.five (which is 8.5kW i think).

What sort of difference would i get from upgrading the shower to a newer 10.something kW shower? Prices seem reasonable but may have to upgrade wiring too?

Any helpful advice appreciated

Andy

The bigger wattage the shower the better really - especially in the depth of winter when the incoming water temperature is particularly low.
As you rightly say, the supplying cable may need to be upgraded, as may the mcb in the consumer unit.

Not much difference. And yes you may need to upgrade the wiring. Electric showers are never going to give you a powerful shower. You will find it will be better in the summer when the incoming water temp is higher

Yeah, don't think it's worth the expense and hassle myself - if the cable needs replacing, for not that much of an improvement IMO

I'd look at putting the money towards a 'proper' shower
