electric shower - won't turn off cold water.

Hi
Had a shower and turned it off as usual - except this time the cold water just kept running out! Turned the power to shower off on the emergency switch and on the fuse box but still the water ran. So turned the cold water to the bathroom off.

Any ideas about how to go about fixing and what I should expect to pay a electrician/plumber to fix this. The electric shower is about 6 years old.

Sounds like faulty solenoid - have a looksee at http://www.showerdoc.co.uk/

use a multi meter on the solenoid valve
you want a reading of 3.4 ohms or above.

common problem take all of 15 mins to diagnose and repair.
