We are having a bungalow built in France, a friend has suggested having electric under floor heating put in and then tiled floor. How efficient and economical is it ?. We will also have a wood burner with distribution pipes to the two bedrooms and two ensuite wet rooms so the EUFH won't be the only heating source. We don't know anyone that has this type of heating to ask advice - any ideas would be very appreciated.
Many Thanks.

i don't think electric is efficient and economical. it spins the meter like no ones business.
i never fit electric ufh.

Don`t fit electric underfloor heating it costs a bomb to run. Imagine running a huge electric fire in every room. don`t do it. You can have underfloor heating run from your boiler. Go for that option, much cheaper.

It is not an economical method of heating in the UK, as Electricity is about 4 times the cost of gas, and the UK has very good mains gas supply in all but the smallest or most isolated villages.

But France leads the world in Nuclear generation so the pricing will be different there.

You need to investigate relative pricing and costs in France.

Many thanks for your replies guys, we will look at a few more options first we think.
