Electric underfloor heating

Hi there
I am going to buy a electric underfloor heating per made mat called a Rugbuddy to put under m rug in the lounge as my floor gives me cold feet.
I have hi ceilings and have insulated loads this is just to improve comfort levels
My question in you can buy the pre made mats the are like 1.8 meters by 1.2 and they plug directly into a 13 amp socket or into a thermostate timer plug.

I am just wondering if it will be cheaper to buy a price of underlay and buy the kit and cale it myself?
Anyone used these or have any idea's or shall I just buy the pre made mat?

A search reveals that this 'Rugbuddy' product is only sold in the USA, and therefore would be totally unsuitable for use in the UK.

As it looks like an electric blanket designed to go under a carpet where people can walk all over it, can't see how such a product could meet any safety standards anywhere.

Or did you mean some other product?
