Hi all

I am putting up a TV bracket just off centre to this plug socket, what are the chances of wires being behind where I am drilling?

Am I right in saying more wires should run vertical or horizontal to sockets?

Bracket will be where the blue is in this photo

Many thanks

There *shouldn't* be anything there, but sometimes in stud walls extra loops can get pushed in sometimes, so the cable takes a banana curve between two vertical holes instead of the line it should/// But, being a stud wall, it should be quite difficult to hit cables other than in a stud because they'll push out the way, and you are only drilling through the plasterboard to put an anchor fixing in arn't you?

As above, you would be really unlucky to damage a cable in a stud wall. It does happen from time to time though. Again, as above the cable will normally bounce out of the way.

I’m putting some plasplugs in, they seems to be the best bit of kit I’ve found for plasterboards! Many thanks for your advice

I tested on a stud wall I am knocking down; the hollow wall anchors were hopeless and the plasplugs were solid! Am I doing something wrong?

Possibly, they are normally pretty solid, how were you installing them?

As a standard Rawl plug, drill the hole, plug them and then screw the bracket in to it. Just checking this is the correct way?!

Use the anchors as stated above. When used with the setting tool they are the strongest/safest method.
If unsure how to install them watch this short video.
