Hello everyone,

Looking for some advice/opinions on some work that has been done so far to get electrics running down to our garden office.

Essentially, it seems that the works done on getting electrics and an ethernet cable down to our garden office has not been done properly. I have attached a few photos showing what's been done.

I have 0 clue about electrics and would love to hear from some experts on what's been done here and what needs to be fixed in order for this to be safe and within regulations. Any questions let me know!

Cheers!

Oh dear. Did the installer arrive on a horse?

It's difficult to see anything right with it.

Not much to add that hasn't already been mentioned but:

Was this person supplying that MEM 2000 as part of the "installation"?

Where is all that Trunking & was that already installed at the house end??

Well, to be fair, it is not finished so we shouldn`t really judge at this stage.
It will, hopefully, improve by the time it gets finished.
However, we can all see multiple items that make us shudder and there is no way that a lot of it can improve sufficiently to be anything like acceptable.
Flameport`s statement "100% junk. Nothing there is correct or salvageable." sums it up quite eloquently in short.
Do they suggest that they are any way able to undertake this job (electrics) for money and does it worry you about any other parts of the job (Non - electrical) that they have undertaken for you?
I mean any building works undertaken etc.

Why can't hi tuff be laid unprotected outdoors? Similarly protected ethernet cable? What's the difference between zip tying cable to a down pipe and clipping it to an external wall. The grey t+e is inside. As said, the work is shown in progress.

Thanks everyone for your responses! Glad it wasn't just me thinking something wasn't right. We're withholding 70% of what we owe until we get a proper electrician to come and do the job properly. Honestly, am so surprised that they thought they could get away with this and am so glad we didn't pay up.

We've got several qualified electricians coming through to give us quotes and can hopefully sort this out!
