Afternoon all,
I’m removing the wall between the living room and stairs and just wondered if I could rack your brains too get some good ideas
The wall is brick however at the top is lats and plaster( top part is staying
Also on the wall there is a hood running across at the beginning of the stairs which is the cupboard in the bedroom
I feel the only way to do this is to have a verticals pillar ( timber 8x8?) support int lat wall and the joist the runs across??
The actual floor joists run the same way as the wall I’m removing
Sounds confusing but it’s not lol
Has anyone come across this scenario before?
The dark wood joist is just fake however the joist for the cupboard is inside the stud wall
Thanks
Jake
