I will shortly start tearing out the oldstone tiled kitchen floor to replace with engineered oak like the rest of the flat. A little exploration shows the tiles were laid on ditra over a ply subfloor. It looks like the ditra was bonded to the ply with thinset, and everything I've read says it's near impossible to remove cleanly - but a few tiles have come off the ditra fairly cleanly.
Any thoughts on keeping the ditra in place as an underlay for the wood? No UFH, no dampness issues so far (only lived here 6 months). Is it a stupid idea?
