Hi, I have a number of questions about my new project. I am building the ensuite is going in the corner of our bedroom, unfortunately we have a sloping roof, I was going to use low volt spot lights in the sloping part, it states on the instructions that the lights need a 110mm roof void, but the joists are only 75 mm, will this be a problem? Also for the shower i am unsure whether to use an electric or mixer shower, we already have an electric shower down stairs and there doesn't seem to be another space for a shower on the consumer unit. Thanks for any help

Yes. The stated void is to allow heat to dissipate from the fittings, and also prevent the fittings from burning or setting fire to anything.

Personally I would fit a mixer shower or a power shower rather than an electric shower. Electric showers just dribble water out, mixer showers actually clean stuff (IMHO) If you do decide to fit an electric shower :( and there are no free ways in your consumer unit, this should not be a big jub for a good electrician to fit a small seperate consumer unit for the new shower (providing the supply is sufficient)

Thanks for the reply, i have decided to go for a mixer shower, a lot of the specifications state that you need a "fully modulated combi boiler", i have a ferroli f24, i cant find any mention of it being fully modulated. what does this mean?
