hi all
just having a few problems with my ford escort 1.6i cabroilet i managed to sort my heater matrix problems so thanks to all who replied,,,anyways the other problem with my escort it seems to be a lack of power from take off from 1st to 2nd for an example it struggles to wheel spin not as tho im trying to spin it but just as an example not sure what it could be top end is fine

try cleaning the throttle body matey with some carb cleaner- this may help it a little bit - it usually increases performance.

clutch is getting worn or oil leak onto the driven plate/flywheel.

put handbrake on and try to pull away. with a good clutch the back of car should squat down before trying to drag the tyres along.

with poor clutch the revs will go up quite a bit beforehand and the squat will be less sharp.

could also look the the emmission sensor, has the exhaust been replace as these often get damaged during exchage.

makes engine sluggish or seem like over reving when not really moving so much almost same as worn clutch symptoms.
