ethernet cable

Hi there,

I have been using an ethernet cable from my router which is downstairs to a laptop which is in my loft to boost the signal for my radio show.Just last week I did the normal thing,went to disconnect from wifi and go straight to the router via the cable but it now shows a little error symbol .

Anyone help me out on this? Thanks

Why have you posted this in the alarms and cctv section?

Have you tried restarting the router and the laptop so it gets a new IP address?
