Well which do you think? In or out (or shake it all about).

There are powerful arguments to stay in.

There are powerful arguments to get out.

But I'm not aware of any strong arguments to 'shake it all about' and dither on the periphery. We should either be in there as a triumvirate with Germany and France. Or completely independent like Norway or Switzerland.

Personally, I think it's too late for the UK to go it alone. Norway has gas and oil, and Switzerland is famed for it's crooked banking.
The UK has been sold off by successive governments for decades.
The utility companies are all foreign owned, as is steel production and most other big commercial manufacturers and services (such as Boots and Aviva).

If we are out then all our costs will rise and we won't be able to do a thing about it. We also import most of our food - so that will rocket too.

The benefit in opting out is we can keep those damn foreigners out and give the jobs to young Brits.

So lets have our own little referendum. How would you vote?

If I was marking this poll as a GCSE response, you would lose marks for leading it with a bias stance ;)

I have read elsewhere that we pay £40 million a day into the European what not,if this is true then by withdrawing and using this money we can buy an awful lot of the above mentioned article's,time to get out its a win win.

I'm not really biased. I'm pretty much undecided really. I haven't even voted yet.

We run a trade deficit with the eu so its in their interests that we don't slam any doors when we leave.
When a runaway train is heading for the buffers its best to be on the side lines wathching.

There should be a 4th option....

It doesn't matter what happens - we're all doomed anyway... ;)

Cameron should offer the electorate a referendum on Europe. Problem is the Lib Dems will never agree to this and as he's only leading a coalition government, a bill to allow a referendum won't get passed.
My personal view is that Merkel is only trying to finish off what Mein Fuhrer started in 1939. (a European Superstate controlled from the land of the Krauts)

Reading the second half of your op, seems pretty strong argument for staying, even though the arguments for leaving haven't been outlined equally. Are you sure you don't work for the BBC? ;)

The common market no prob, this eec political pipedream no.

Anyone who thinks unelected officials should run things needs their heads examining.

I've edited it.
True, but there's got to be other benefits to leaving.

This thing about trading doesn't wash, we need to trade with them and they need our trade too. Protectionism works two ways. It would be a useful bit of analysis to undertake to determine the savings of certain key contentious current arrangments such as common agricultural (and notably fishing).

Certainly have to agree with you there John.

The concept of a superstate has been round since the end of WW1.

Eu in or out ?? , it will all fall apart , probably sooner than we may think ?? The euro will not survive , greece , portugal , spain , Italy have a smaller national debt per gdp than us , unfortunately for them they are paying a higher interest rate set by the euro zone , read Germany & France !
The ordinary person in the street in many countrys is not going to constantly drop his trousers & bend over at the whim of some un elected corrupt eu pencil pusher , on a 6 figure salary , telling them that there lives are going to be s**t for the next 20 years . but it is for the national good !

Arab spring , european spring will come

Did not see the germans in the gulf in fact u never see them any were really were there is trouble or strife in the world ??

there all hogging deck chairs at some resort , or taking part in some belching contest ( maybe ?) :)

Germany's fuel bills are always cheaper, since if they want to go from A to B, they go in a direct route regardless who's country it is.
