Hi Folks,

Having been away fro 3 weks I return to find no heating or hot water in the house.

I have a boiler Excel 80 SP which appears to be working fine but not producing any heat nor hot water. It seemed to be lighting up and making all the right noise as always however the temperature does not raise at all. Preasure is OK.

Can someone please advise what could be wrong and what I could do, if anything, to make sure it works.

Thanks

Hi. I am no heating expert, but I used to have one of these boilers.
Firstly, check the pressure gauge for the water pressure in the system. The needle should sit in the green zone. If it is low, turn the boiler off and add water via the filling loop. Check for any water coming out of the pressure relief outlet and any air in the radiators. When you say it is firing up, do you mean that the burner is going, or that pilot light is alight?
Is the pump going? Is the fan going? When it fires up, how long does it go for?
