Excessive Gas Consumption - Not sure what to try next!

Yes. I have the Octopus Home Mini + the Octopus HA plugin. HA fetches data from Octopus once a minute [but - to keep it relevant to this thread - not gas readings as the gas meter is battery powered].
Wow! Thanks for the information, that is really useful.

I have an Octopus Home Mini too. But haven't yet had the time to configure the HA plugin. My gas & electricity meters were fitted in Nov last year. Do you think my gas meter is battery powered too?

Scratch that. I just went through the process of adding the Octopus plugin to HA and I am seeing my gas and electricity usage!

Sorry, not yet. I am still investigating and trying to reduce my usage. I have detailed what I have done and will be doing below. Once I have my next bill, I can compare and report the actual reduction I have managed to achieve. My main issues are that the house is large and not insulated. Whilst the actions I have taken below have helped a little, they are not enough to make a dent in the bill as I would have liked. My main focus is/will be around making the house more insulated.

Things already done:
- Tweak TADO smart TRV schedules for each room
- Days/times where only I am home, use an electric space heater for the study
- Block chimney to eliminate cold draughts and heat loss

Things still to do:
- Investigate areas of heat loss using infrared camera
- Cavity wall insulation
- Interior wall insulation
- Look into Vaillant's smart controller for boiler
