Hey

TLDR: Excessive lint build up inside the mechanism of tumble, could be because it's in a rubbishly vented cupboard.

My integrated Beko heat pump tumble dryer has developed a fault after 20mths. There is a really loud droning nose which I think is coming from the motor. Anyway, when I took it apart I was shocked to see so much lint build up in the insides of the tumble mechanism itself. Some parts were like a thick carpet. We clean the filter after every tumble so not sure why that's happened. Probably why the motor is playing up too.

One thing, my builder installed it into a cupboard on top of a washing machine, but for some unknown reason put the vent lower down behind the W/m instead of higher up behind the T/D. I guess this isn't great for airflow.

Onyway any ideas why so much lint? Beko also said I'm out of warranty but maybe this is a fault from the beginning?

That is a fire waiting to happen!

Apparently this type of dryer doesn't need a vent but I would be looking for some installation instructions to check its installed correctly. Does the lint filter fit properly.

Just checked a similar dryer and it says do not cover the ventilation grilles.

Potential fire hazard. You're not confusing the internal insulation with a build up of lint?

Yeh it certainly doesn't seem normal. The filter fits perfectly and does collect lint when used.

It's an integrated appliance and even the retailer show it with a cupboard door on it, so surprised if I can't have it behind a door??

100% lint. You can see more lint build up in the cupboard itself. Just completely surprised the amount after 20mths of use.

Think I'd be checking everywhere inside to make sure there wasn't a leak/badly fitted joint that's allowing lint laden air out into the internals
