I am in the process of buying a house that comes with a decent size concrete drive (approx 35sqm). The concrete is in a good condition with no cracking or obvious defects however, it has been poured in stages over time and as such, the missus does not like it. It is a smooth floated finish and seems to be of a good thickness; I would really not like to break this out!

The drive will only be used for cars no substantial loading. Is existing concrete something that can be used as a basis for tarmac to be laid on? What price should I be expecting for this?
I imagine that the surface of the drive may need scabbling or similar for the tar to adhere to properly.
Any help/input is much appreciated. Merely feasibility at the moment.

it is certainly possible yes. Stablity of concrete underneath is key as is getting a tack coat.
