Expanding foam can emptying everywhere when removing from gun

As above, has anyone else had this happen?

It's rare that I have to remove a can from a gun before it's empty, but today for the second time in 3 years, the can emptied its entire contents on the floor when I removed it (i was playing safe and did it onto a patch of dirt).

Other times it's been fine, and I've later re-attached the can after cleaned and carried on.

It was Fischer foam, on a Fischer gun.

I've found that to happen when using old cans (past the date on the can), once the valve opens it doesn't fully seal again making a right mess

Ah, I probably deserve it this time then - the can is dated March 2018!!!
