Expanding foam tape for skylights

Hi all


I am looking to fit my own flat roof skylight windows. The supplier does not provide any fixings so I need to source them myself


I’m planning to go with aluminium profile with a side raised frame of 36mm. The 28mm double glazed glass will sit lower than the profile by 8mm.


I am trying to source some 25mm wide expanding foam tape than can take the load of the window. The glass will be 940mm X 940mm and is expected to weigh no more than 40kg


I need the expanding foam to be dense enough so that the drip end of the glass does not sit lower than the profile which will result in ponding.


Do you guys know anywhere in west London area I can visit a supplier where I can physically see the item.

Online is great but you can handle the item

Surely it needs to be rigid? I would think something like a polyamide (nlyon) extrusion would be better, you can certainly buy sheets of 8mm, I daresay someone one could cut some strips off to form a 25x8 profile. Or you might be able to source someone who supplies that size.
