Hi
We’ve had a 2 storey extension completed recently that involved a bit more steel than average as the first floor cantilevers over the ground floor to allow a walkway between ours and the neighbours. The neighbours built to the boundary both floors but we didnt want to cut off rear access.
Long story short we’ve been left with an exposed steel beam lip/edge as the builder was supposed to cover the beam with a polycarbonate roof to provide a side passage.
They didn’t do that (even longer story) and the beam edge is exposed to the weather as a consequence. When I can get someone in to do it the polycarbonate roof will go on and hopefully provide the weather proofing.
In the meantime is this ok as pictured? It hasn’t even been painted...
BC have passed it off.
Oh the fully expose steels in the first pic have been galvanised so I’m not concerned about those.
Hope it’s self explanatory! And thanks in advance for any advice.
