Hi, I hope one of you experts can give me some guidance on this please!

I have an indesit 6145 washing machine and (touch wood) its working OK on all my usual cycles, but I often want to use cycle 9 which is supposed to be a 15 minute express cycle, however it seems to last just as long as a standard cycle (not timed it to the second, but probably about 70 mins)

Is this a common problem? Ive googled it and not come up with anything. Im even beginning to wonder if whatever cycle I 'choose' its just doing the same one! lol

Any suggestions would be gratefully received, I would love to be able to get the express cycle going, it would be so useful!

Thanks, and hope someone can help! x

Waste pipe down too low in stand pipe or filter blocked.

Thats interesting thank you, I will take a look at the waste and filter, I didn't realise anything like that would make the cycle last longer than it should! Fascinating!

We have cleaned the filter, it wasn't really dirty (manual says it a 'self cleaning filter') and checked the position and condition of the waste pipe, and all seems fine with both.

Tried again, and the 15 minute cycle still lasts as long as a main cycle (well over an hour), anyone got any more ideas? Could it be a problem with the program selection button maybe not recognising which cycle is being selected?

Heater might be open curcuit.

Hi, thanks rocks1 for your reply, can you explain a little more please as Im not sure what you mean? The machine heats up water fine, does everything fine as far as I know, apart from provide me with an express cycle.

If it heats up. And you can feel heat on the glass then heater is working. The wast pipe should only be 3 inches down the waste standpipe. Other than that the pcb has failed.
