Extended lounge out, some questions that I'm getting mixed answers on

hi all, sorry i was googling the company i wanted to use after my neighbour put some doubt in my head, he mentioned hes never know a builder to not have a current job on, so i guess he could be between jobs, i found him on website where customer leave reviews etc and hes quite local to me, i will try today to visit one of his jobs that he has done before and ask them . i did some more googling on the company name and noticed this on gov website

there were accounts filed upto june 2024.

this means the builder and consistency not filed accounting records, i will ask him but i wanted some advice before.
 
You must never use a builder from one of those sites Checkatrade etc, always use a recommended builder. You get Building Regs drawings to show the builder exactly what to price and build, they form the basis of your contract. The forum is littered with many a disastrous thread where the builder's been chosen from one of those sites or they have no regs drawings.
