extending a ring main

Hi Ineed to move two sockets about 4 feet from there present position,
The ring comes through the wall into one socket out and into FCU then up to a second FCU then back through the original wall.
how do I safely extend the ring that goes into the first socket in the line, I assume I cannot use normal blocks. Do I need a Junction box? if so what amp.
