I have an existing cooker cable which terminates at the consumer unit with a 30 amp fuse. I wish to extend the cable to reposition an oven somewhere else. Is it Ok to use a 45 amp cooker connector to join the old cable to the new.
Also by mistake I have used 10mm 45 amp cable to extend the circuit, is it OK to have a higher rated cable for part of the run.
The oven I will be connecting is only rated at 4.7 Kw but I want to make the circuit 'future proof'
thanks for your help
