Hi All. Hoping someone can give me some pointers. I have an old 1930s fire surround (see pics) I'm planning on eventually painting it but I also want to increase the height of it by lengthening the legs (upright bits) or whatever they are called. I need to raise by approx 70mm. I have some pieces of oak but don't really know the best way to approach it. I thought maybe clamp and glue some pieces of scrap onto the inside of each leg and then clamp and glue my oak over this and then plane or sand back to meet original. Any advice is very welcome
Cheers in advance
