Hi All,
Looking for some advice. Opening out kitchen and as part of that bringing floor up to same level, only about 5sqm and for majority of that bringing 125mm up to match rest of kitchen.
At the moment I can see under existing kitchen floor and no idea if there is any insulation under there, maybe 20 years old so who knows.
Anyway I'm proposing to put down 50mm PIR on the extended bit and sand/cement screed to level. For such a small area and with no idea what other insulation is around should I bother with PIR upstands?
Second part is how do you deal with edge detail on internal steps, do you stop insulation short and screed down front of what would be the riser or leave it whereby you'd see the end of the PIR like a cross section of the floor? Will just be two relatively small steps down in the floor to an entrance.
Thanks in advance
