Extending the Eaves

I want to clad a semi detached property on all three sides. Problem is i have no soffit on the rear of my property. Does anyone know of a way i cant get over this. The only solution i can think of, is to extend the rafters and to create some. Problem is i am not sure this would work because of next doors fascia is joined to mine.
