Engineer has specified a 750 mm wide 200 mm thick steel reinforced strip foundation minimum 650 dig.

It's a full plans regs application, if i was to then suggest using trench do I need them to submit new plans or will BCO (council) accept changes as we build?

I think you just need to submit the engineers paperwork to the BCO

The question would be why has he specified that foundation in the first place? Is there a specific issue that needs to be overcome? Is a deep strip suitable?

Otherwise, when the inspector comes to review the trench bottom, just tell him and he'll note it and that's it.

Thanks guys, have submitted the question to se but not the fastest at responding, just conciliatory my application is getting close to target date for approval so wanted to make sure it wouldn’t cause a major issue if changes.

Appreciate the advice

If the engineer is happy with the revised foundations the correct thing would be to have the plans amended so that the approved plans will indicate what you are proposing to build. ( but I suppose that is obvious )
