Hi all,
Well, that's the extension shell up. My contribution has only been drawing the plans and what seems like endless blood sweat and tears labouring for a few skilled mates.
The original plan was to use reclaimed roof tiles to match the originals but the ones available were pretty much rubbish so we ended up going for new ones of almost the same profile and redoing most of the original roof as well. New ones were only 34p more each than reclaimed. The sarking needed replacing anyway.
Now my real work starts inside. I'm waiting for the plumber to put in the central heating pipes and the sparky to rough out the wiring, then I'll get the floors down.
The extension shell has come it at under £28,000, with a bit extra for the work on the original part of the house but that was well under budget too.
