i have painted the exterior of a house, its rendered and by the coast, i scraped off the old bubbling paint, filled any cracks etc, then painted. i unfortunatly got a bit of rain before it dried properly and its all bubbled over the winter and pealed off, so i have agreed to redo fre of charge, what would be the best process and materials to get a complete job done, this has never happened to me before and its a bit embarrassing

I doubt it would have been the rain which caused the failure.

Best to post this in the painting forum.

 I saw that when I went for a weekend break by the sea- stands out like a sore thumb ;)

I haven't been fortunate enough to do much work near the sea, but on the two occasions I have, I used Dulux Weathershield Maximum Exposure masonry paint. It resists the effects of salt and driving rain and is ideal for use near the coast - pretty expensive though!

When you have repaired the existing damage, it might be wise to use an alkali resistant primer to stop any salts already in the wall from causing more damage from underneath the new paint.
