External Above ground Wiring

I have a shed I want to supply (for a strip light and a couple of sockets - lawnmower and power tools) that is about 4 metres from the house along the fence line and about 8 metres from a ring main I could spur.

A patio means I cannot run the cables underground. Is it Legal/safe to run the cable above ground attached to the house and then to the fence (or fence posts)? if so are there any minimum height restrictions?
