Hi all, I hope someone can provide a little guidance. I have an an single storey annex type side building that I would like to convert to a laundry area. I wish to move the door to the garden as there is currently a tight 90 degree turn required. I want the access to be straight through as the room is only 2m wide.
I am struggling with understanding Part A of the regs. The room is single leaf 4" brick from the window around to the back of the toilet. As per my plan I wish to locate a door next to the toilet. I know the plan as is is not accurate as I have not taken into account insulation and lintel. In Part A I read that doorways must be 390 mm from the wall but Diagram 14 of the regs showed an equation which, when worked out, put the location at 150ish mm. How can I get the doorway as close to the corner as I can, the U value has me putting 120mm of insulation on battens on the wall and a Lintel with 150mm overhang on either side so that is the nearest I can get?
