External Insulation

I am keen to have my house and extension fitted with external rigid insulation boards and then renedered with a weather proof coloured through render. Any suggestions for the most suitable products. The thinner the insualtion the better, but I do want as good a u value as practical.

Not sure of what you mean re external insulation at a guess I would say your loal bc would be against as not standard.
Rigid pir provides the best u values. The thermal foil blankets will not be allowed by most bc,s due to negative testing results an non renewal of their licenses.
