I moved into a new build (built September 2022) and have noticed recently that there is a section of the external wall rendering that is damp after heavy rain. I have confirmed it is indeed rainwater from surface and not a leaking gutter, or window sill water fall by aiming a hose at the gravel. When aiming the hose at the gravel, the damp patch has gotten darker. I've attached a before and an after of doing this test.
Is this anything that I should be worried about? There is no internal damage yet, but I'm worried that this may lead to internal damage. From the picture, I believe that dpc has been laid correctly and there is also a gravel strip to prevent splashback but it may not be doing its job? I amn't 100% sure if this is splashback as it is only this small section that has this issue - a gravel strip is laid around the entire perimeter of the house.
Any advice much appreciated.
First pic is before hose test
Second pic is after
Third pic is where rendering starts. I can see a gap and not sure if this is meant to be there - could this be the reason? The white thing is plasticy - unsure what it is.
