External "skirting" for shed

I have put a small enclosed shed at the end of the carport, using 18mm WBP ply and waxy fence stain.

The end wall is slightly tucked under the eaves and gutter, but abuts a flowerbed which I sometimes water. Also it is the West end which receives the prevailing wind and rain. The ply is spaced off the ground by a few inches as the shed is very much ventilated. The shed floor is paving slabs, spaced inside the walls by a few inches.

I think I need something to prevent water splashing onto the ply. I have in mind something like a skirting board, either impervious like plastic or metal, or a replaceable wooden strip.

Any suggestions?

Is there a gap under the ply?

yes, there is a gap of a few inches

See below. Lots of places sell it.

Comes in different colours. Usually, the width is 22mm and the higher side is 45. Idea is you cut it to size, feed it under the ply at the base of the shed so that the bottom of your ply wall is sitting in the bottom of the channel then fix to the ply. You might need to put a couple of 4mm packers in then screw it to the inside of the shed.

Before fixing, run a bead of clear silicone at the top where the lip will meet the external wall.

Only an idea but I used the brown stuff on the base of some 22mm planters I built and it worked a treat for stopping splash-up getting at the bottom of the planters (they are built on short legs)

thanks. I will visit my local conservatory and window merchant. I think I will allow a space at the bottom for any water to get away.
