Hello:
I have an IP66 external socket with cover that I am planning on installing.
I wish to be able to switch it off from inside the house so no-one can steal my electric in the middle of the night.
My consumer unit has an RCD for all the main MCB circuits (a split board with lighting circuits not on the RCD).
I have two questions.
Is the RCD protection adequate for the external socket - (I understand in the event of a fault everything will go off)
To be able to 'switch off ' power to the external socket, which is best:
an appliance switch to isolate both L&N
or a Fused switched spur which is fuse protected at a lower ampage than the main ring?
