I removed wooden windows on dormers. The wooden frame of the dormers are rendered over. I cut back the render on the sides of the windows to be able to remove the windows.
On the top of the old window was a flat render bead holding the render.
Removing this has left a jagged edge on the render, which I am not sure how to finish?
The replacement widows are 20mm thinner than the old ones and so there is a 20mm section of exposed wood along the top of the new window.
I will be fitting fascia board on the rafters tails so most of this will be pretty well protected.
