I have a pressure reduction valve fitted to my incoming supply for protecting various components on my system.

The existing outside tap is installed after the pressure reduction valve at the reduced rate.

The water pressure in My area is very strong.

Can I 'T' into the incoming supply between the stopcock and the pressure valve without causing a problem?

Can I do this in plastic piping with suitable connectors to 15mm copper pipe?

Your help would be appreciated...

Well what is the pressure? It might not be a problem for your pipework and tap, but what about whatever you connect to it?

The pressure is about 6 bar I think. All I want to connect is a hose pipe watering garden etc.

Its usual practice to take the outside tap prior to the PRV. After all you usually want high pressure when cleaning the car etc.

Plastic will be ok, but there might be a few doubts after 10 years with all that pressure. I would use copper to be sure to be sure :)
