EXTRA SOCKET

I WANT TO PUT AN EXTRA SOCKET IN AN OFFICE KITCHEN,. THERE HAS BEEN A SHORT SPUR TAKEN FROM A LOW MOUNTED SOCKET (RING) ON THE OTHER SIDE OF the WALL THEN A BLANK SOCKET COVER FITTED, THIS SHORT SPUR THEN GOES TO A FUSED SWITCH WHICH IS POWERING A 3KW SINK BOILER .THE GIRLS WANT A SOCKET FOR THE KETTLE , I WONDERED ABOUT CONTINUING THE RING FROM THE BLANKED SOCKET PUTTING THE BOILER AND NEW SOCKET IN THE EXTENDED RING ? IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO TAKE A SPUR I THINK THIS WOULD TO MUCH IS THIS THE CASE ?

The safest way, is to use an Unswitched Fused Connection Unit to tap off the original ring main, and spur off to the new socket.

This way, the risk of causing any overload will be eliminated by the 13a FCU.

I think you should stop, and not do any of those things.

You don't sound like a qualified electrician - you might well invalidate the liability insurance carried by the operator of the office if you do electrical work there.
