Extra use for damp-meter washing

Most people check whether there washing is dry, by feeling and seeing if it feels cold to the touch, on the principle that evaporation will make the fabric cooler than the environment it is in. It's not a very conclusive test, especially when it is cold anyway. Better and more certain is a damp meter, poked into the thickest part of the material.

When it rains, as it has done off and on, the past two days, I use my drying system in the utility. A series of stainless steel wires/lines the length of my utility, a dehumidifier combined with a fan to move the air around. I then check things are dry one at a time with the meter, before removing them.
