Hello,

I hope you can help. I have searched the forum and can't find the exact answer I am looking for. I have an Extractor fan and I am not sure of the wiring. On the fan I have
L1 Red
L2 Brown
N Blue
Yellow/Green ( I assume Live)

From the circuit I have
Brown
Blue
Yellow/Green
Plus attached to the metal box another Yellow/Green

Please can you let me know how to attach these.
Thanks in advance
John

The fan you describe seems to be a fan with overun facility - ie turn the light or a separate switch on and the fan starts. Turn off and the fan contiues running for n minutes.

Your wiring suggests ordinary manual on/off switching.

So you could link the two lives of the fan together.

Send details of the fan before you start.

Check you are fitting a 230 volt fan to a 230 volt supply.
Or even a 12 volt fan to a 12 volt supply.

What is the supply you intend to use? It appears to be coming from a metal back box.

Hello,

It is not a ceiling fan it is an extractor fan in the bedroom wall to the outside.
I am replacing a fan that was in situ with a new version of the same model. I removed the old one but the delivery took 4 weeks and in that time I forgot which way the wires were attached.
The fan is a Vent Axia HRV A30.
Sorry for earlier I meant Yellow/Green (Earth)
The wires coming in to the box are from the mains supply.
thanks
