Hi

There is a loud extractor fan in my bedroom. I want disconnect it. If I disconnect all the wires in photo and tape them up, will it be safe?

Why don't you just switch that spur off (or pull fuse on it if unswitched)

You might find the bathroom gets damp and mouldy without it running though

If the fan is needed (Who has a extract fan in a bedroom??) would you not fit a quiet one?
If not, why not leave it be?
If not, you need to get an electrician in to decommission it if you can't do it yourself. (Not sure if a few wraps of insulation tape is a good idea tbh)

It was put in by a crap landlord. I think as a punishment for me complaining about the mold in the winter. Now it goes off all the time and keeps me awake at night. It's also insanely cold

Is the thing in your picture a switch?

If you cut off the ventilation, you will not have a leg to stand on when you complain about mould.

I'm going to reconnect it if the landlord comes out. It hasn't dealt with the mold so clearly that isn't the issue

It doesn't have a switch otherwise I wouldn't have posted it haha. The fuse is covered with a sticker so if I remove it the landlord will know I took it out.
