Need to do a false ceiling in room that's approx 4500 x 4500. It will be down about 300mm from the existing lath and plaster ceiling, and ultimately just be a board and skim finish. What is the best way of doing this? Metal stud frame? Will that be strong enough across the whole span without sagging in the middle?

Thanks

150 mm @ 450mm centres would span the room - Knauf systems

Thanks. Will have a look in to that. 150mm just referring to the size of the metal studs? Sorry, not really that familiar with metal stud framing!

Refers to the depth of the steel section. Supported by a 'C' section perimeter rail fixed to the walls.
