I recently installed a new fan light in the second bedroom purchased from Amazon. It works fine, but bizarrely when I turn on the bathroom light, the fan light comes on for a fraction of a second.

I’m pretty sure it’s wired up correctly as both the light and the fan work fine, it’s just slightly concerning that it’s lighting up for a fraction of a second when a light it being switched on in a completely different room!

This is the light - https://amzn.to/4gzuK6j

All the upstairs lights are wired up in the loft using quickwire splitters and junction boxes, and have not had any issues in the past.

Any idea what might be causing this, and should I send the light back to Amazon?

Hmm. Maybe a wee spike on the lighting circuit from the other room causes the LED to light briefly. You could try fitting a snubber across the bedroom fan light.

Thanks, so I literally just connect one wire to the live and one wire to neutral inside the light fitting and that’s it?
