Have a dilemma with some poor installation of a fascia - as you can see from the photo below, a soffit was not put in (as per the plans).

We are getting the wall rendered soon - do I need to get a small soffit installed or just pack out the fascia so it is sitting in front of the wall? Or am I fine to get the wall rendered as-is?

The other side has been packed out so the fascia is outside of the wall. Again do I NEED to get it pushed further out

As long as any ventilation isn't compromised, the render should cover the gap in the second pic and butt up to the fascia in the first, you will probably be the only person to notice it.

That said, they stopped the notching half way along in the second pic, and the vertical cover strip seems to be out of true as a consequence, so you could reasonably require that to be sorted.

Blup

I would want the fascia to cover the top edge of the render. As is will leave the render at risk long term

Take it off, have the wall rendered, then fit a timber backing board to bring that barge capping out off the render face to avoid drip staining.

Plastic capping should have two fixings across its width, not one in the middle.
